Customized indicator on the chart
The bottom of the chart in the video displays ATR (Average True Range) with the Period set to 1 rather than 14. This allows me to see the exact total point range of each individual candle. Seeing that allows me to adapt my targets and stop losses based on the current volatility.
Why are custom brackets and order presets so important?
Chart trading is one of the biggest reasons I've used NinjaTrader for years. Instead of manually entering stop losses and profit targets every trade, you can create presets that automatically place them for you the moment you enter a position.
For example, you could have one preset that enters 3 contracts with a 10-point stop loss, a 15-point profit target, automatic breakeven, and a trailing stop, then switch to a completely different setup in just a couple of clicks.
Managing trades directly on the chart also makes it much easier to visualize your entries, stops, and targets before placing an order. It’s a must-have feature for price action traders such as myself.

How customizable is NinjaTrader for charting and trading?
Create your own unique workspace full of charts, trade management tools, account windows, and more. The platform can be as simple or as complex as you’d like, since you get access to custom coding, market replay tools for trading historical data, free libraries of tools and indicators (made by NinjaTrader and trading community), and so much more.
For example on customization — if you want 10 charts of different markets all on different timeframes, you can do that! If you want to experiment with different layouts, you can always save that workspace and create a new one. 1 workspace could be designed and optimized for executing trades while another workspace could be just for charting. It’s all up to you.
